Single Review: Walnut Dash ~ I KEPT THE WOLVES AWAY

I Kept The Wolves Away are the Sheffield based trio (made up of Dan Williamson, Ash Romans and Matty Harrop) who have been injecting fun into the music scene since 2015, delighting audiences with their dynamic on-stage aura at live shows and releasing a series of irrepressible indie-rock anthems, the likes of 'Howl' and 'Beagle'. Their eccentric music videos have clocked up thousands of views each, and it's not difficult to see why; music aside, this is a band who most definitely have the likeability factor and continue to prove that they are every inch as interesting as their quirky name suggests.

Latest single release 'Walnut Dash' is nothing short of a stroke of brilliance, and shows the band and their musical abilities at their finest; led by gritty guitars and mettlesome drum beats, the track is hard-hitting and exudes charm and reverberation. The euphonious vividity and coalescent nature of the instrumentation only serves to better accentuate the spirited vibrancy of Dan's instantly recognisable vocals, which as always are smooth and delightfully expressive. The thing that gets me most about this band is the way that they so effortlessly bring an element of fun to everything they do.
